Restaurant Habits Survey in the Covid-19 Era

As the foodservice industry faces government restrictions, restaurants are looking for ways to allay public fear and keep their customers. Consumers seek the comfort of knowing that conditions inside restaurants are hygienic and that every step in the ordering, preparation, and pick-up/delivery of their food is sanitary. Discount offers and promotions may also encourage consumers to order food to go, thus curbing some of the negative economic impact on the industry.

Methodology

The Decision Analyst Covid-19 Era Restaurant Habits Survey was conducted online among a nationally representative sample of 1,010 U.S. adults (This was a different sample than for the Consumer Reactions to Covid-19). The sample was balanced by men versus women and controlled by age groups. Data collection dates were March 18-19, 2020.
